Polycystic ovarian disease (PCOD) is a common hormonal disorder that affects women of reproductive age. In PCOD, the patients have multiple small cysts in their ovaries. Anovulation results in irregular menstruation, amenorrhea and ovulation related infertility. The hormonal imbalance causes acne and hirsuitism.
