What we regularly say is baby has to gain at least 30 grams per day of the weight for at least three months that is at least 800 grams per month for the first three months. Now if the feed is adequate baby has to gain a minimum of eight hundred grams to one kg per month if the baby is not gaining weight of 800 grams to 1 kg we assume that feed is inadequate. Now baby has to double his birth weight by at least 3 months of wage and baby has to triple by one year so by the end of one year each and every baby will be around 8 to 10 kgs whatever be the birth rate will be 1kg 2kg or 3kg by the end of one year it should be 8 to 10 kgs
