Cancer pain is almost inevitable it occurs due to the tumour progression or compression of the tumour onto the nerves or spread of the tumour into structures like bones spinal cords or even tumour necrosis interestingly some of the treatments that we offer for treatment of cancer can themselves cause pain for example is surgery causing damage to the tissue or the nerves or a chemotherapy causing peripheral neuropathy or even radiotherapy causes short term or long term pain problems if untreated it the pain can cause a severe physical psychological emotional or even economical losses to the patient so patients pain needs to be treated
