Today I'll talk to you about what is a pain in my clinic I see patients who struggle to describe their pain because it is an abstract concept let me explain pain is an unpleasant sensation. It presents as a sharp burning stabbing crampy like sensation, sometimes it can be like an electric shock-like experience it also affects your emotions leading to anxiety low mood depression and various other psychological states.
This pain can be associated with actual or potential tissue damage pains can be of various types back pain sciatica neck pain headaches abdominal pain pelvic pains cancer pains or even nerve or neuropathic pain sir during the first few weeks of presentation it is called acute pain here the body gets a warning to seek help when untreated it turns to chronic pain. This is when it starts to gain control on one's life initially the activity levels go down they withdraw from social life then the job is affected their family relations get strained and life feels worthless it can take over mental well-being making them feel anxious depressed and even suicidal hence chronic pain should be addressed as quickly as possible.
